Turquoise Dreams

When I left primary school I remember telling my friends that were we ever to lose touch that they should just look for the house with the turquoise door and that's where I'd be. It was so much more than a colour to me just a mere glimpse at anything turquoise-d would lift my spirits and confirm to me that all was well in the world.

Holly Golightly had Tiffany's to calm her down when the mean reds hit, turquoise has the same effect on me. While this post isn't about anything altogether groundbreaking, it is just an homage to one of the world's most beautiful colours and if the mean reds ever hit always drop by this little gallery of turquoise to regather yourself.

Now I don't think that I'd be quite that obsessed that I'd be on for nails and lips in such tones but this image is so arresting and shows how well dark brown and glistening turquoise work together.

To the interiors: you don't got to go all out right but if you have turquoise threaded through some white you'll create a great little look and have some pizazz in your dwelling.

And mix around with prints..... see how much geometrics changes the look although the color scheme is the same?

It's nice in your beddie-bye-byes too. Right the thing is here folks, you can mix and mess around with every colour and colour combination in the whole world on your soft furnishings and cushion covers, towels and sheets - so play with colour here.

Wish I knew where this was......

And this.........

Isn't this teapot heaven? It's from Arizona, it's sterling silver and has a turquoise stone in it from Arizonan lands. It's made by the Navajos.

You can create the colour naturally yourself if you letter copper oxidize.

I adore it with silver as a stone set in jewelry, I always think of a real powerful, independent older woman when I see this hand.

It's nice on wood too and distressed a bit......

I don't know if this flower has been doctored.......

How class is this door?

And for a natural occurrence of turquoise, in tropical oceans. Like in Thailand...... Barbados...... French Polynesia......

This is in Iran. The roofs of mosques are covered in turquoise tiles because it's thought that the colour turquoise is the colour closest to heaven and these roofs are reaching up into the heavenly skies.

Just showing how well it goes with chocolate brown again.....

Nice with gold too and even enticing to eat.......

Thirsty?

Nice with porcelain and gloss

In vintage bird cages......

Totally distressed and against white.

Or with vibrant colour

Gorgeous with gold

With pressed, dried flowers

Jewelery again

With a deep purple and in dinnerware

With pastel colors

Brown with it again........

And then finally an arm band full of the stuff
