Exposed Brick
I love natural ingredients in a house now I love my modern but stuff like wood and brick give a really good vibe and energy to a place. If you're lucky enough to have good quality brick in one of your four walls it's a nice idea to strip everything back on at least one wall and get at it.
It's cool in a living room or a busy living-room/kitchen place or else in a bedroom. It makes a place seem warmer too. Blues go great like the turquoise couch above because orange and blue are complementary colours on the colour wheel.
Plain whites and blacks go great too as it's such a big feature you want nothing else to be competing for attention in the room. Wooden beams or any wood feature complement it too.
If you're not lucky enough to have a good old brick wall in your abode you can always get brick tiles and tile up an area of a wall to create the same natural, easy-going vibe that exposed brick brings to a place.
